Former President Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the opposition Democratic progressive Party (DPP) is today attending the funeral ceremony of his mother in-law in Balaka.
According to information at hand, Mother to former First Lady Professor Gertrude Mutharika passed on yesterday.
The funeral ceremony is currently underway at Khwisa in Balaka District.
Mutharika has been accompanied by DPP Vice President for Eastern Region Bright Msaka, DPP Administrative Secretary Francis Mphepo.
Also present at the funeral is De-facto Vice President Everton Chimulilenji, Mutharika’s spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba and others.
