High Court Judge Gladys Gondwe has adjourned hearing of the murder and human trafficking case, involving former president Peter Mutharika’ step son Tadikila Mafubza and five others, to June 8 this year.
Lawyers for four of the accused applied for bail which the court has reserved it’s ruling on, until the next meeting of the court.
The state asked the court that it should be allowed to make written responses to the bail application considering that it was not aware that the plea would arise.
The court has since allowed the state to file the response within seven days.
The four accused have been on remand since November last year.
Meanwhile, Tadikira and other suspects in the case have pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against them.
The state has since indicated that it will parade six witnesses in the case.
