The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma has denied from providing comments regarding the discontinuance of the alleged corruption case involving former President Bakili Muluzi.

On Monday, High Court Judge in Blantyre dropped all the charges against Muluzi who is now 80 years old.

The court’s decision was based on the issuance of a certificate of discontinuance of the case which the Director of Public Prosecutions, Masauko Chamkakala, made on 26 May 2023.

Speaking in an interview with the press Chizuma referred press to Chamkakala.

She however said ACB remains committed to combatting corruption in the country.

The DPP is expected to provide information to the legal affairs committee of Parliament on 5 June, 2023.

The case has taken 14 years under three previous administrations.
