A decomposed body, believed to be that of a child under five years old, was found wrapped in a sack and placed in a coffin behind Kakonde Primary School in Mpulungu, Northern Province.
The discovery was made by a police officer who overheard people discussing the presence of a coffin.
Upon opening it, the officer found the decomposed body. The cause of death remains unknown, and investigations are underway.
No arrests have been made, and it is unclear if the child’s relatives have been located.
