Gogo Mlewa, a Lilongwe-based actress who starred in comedies with her nephew, has died at the age of 90.
Gogo Mlewa, real name Leya Ketrina Aziyele Mlewa, died Tuesday night at Likuni Mission Hospital, according to her nephew-partner, Yona Kantwera.
Kantwera said Gogo Mlewa will be buried on Thursday at Mlewa Village, Traditional Authority Chimutu in Lilongwe.
Gogo Mlewa received Honorary Innovation Award in 2021.
