One of the top officials at Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Dowa Hilary Namakwa has quashed reports of a bomb explosion at the site.
On Monday, Minister of Homeland Security Ken Zikhale Ng’oma told the press that there was bomb explosion at Dzaleka Camp but could not elaborate more.
The Minister went further to say that some refugees at the site are keeping dangerous weapons.
Speaking in an interview with the press today, Namakwa said the sound which was heard on Monday from the site was that of teargas canister.
He said the canister was fired by newly recruited police officer.
