Lusaka’s Civic Centre witnessed a dramatic scene when Phinet Nkhoma, a married woman, attempted to marry another man. However, her plans were thwarted when her mother, Alice Nkhoma, intervened at the Marriage Registrar’s office to halt the union.
Alice Nkhoma had received a report from neighbors about her daughter’s intentions and rushed to the civic centre, deeply disappointed that Phinet had left her matrimonial home.
When questioned about her actions, Phinet explained that she felt compelled to seek another marriage because, despite being provided with everything she needed in life, her husband failed to bring her excitement in the bedroom.
