Aspiring female President Sally Kumwenda, founder of Leadership with Compassion Party (LCP) has resurfaced again in the political field ahead of the 2025 polls.

Kumwenda who is eying to become the second female President in the country after Joyce Banda has asked the youth who are above 16 years to go and register with National Registration Bureau (NRB).

In a banner currently circulating on social media seen by this publication, Kumwenda says youth are “a true agent of change” hence wooing them to go and register in large numbers so that they can have a chance to take part in voting exercise in the forthcoming 2025 polls.

Kumwenda launched her party in 2017 with an aim of giving hope to the youth.

During the launch Kumwenda said: “My party is interested in young and fresh people. We need new ideas of leading the people of Malawi. We have been waiting for a long time to have a Malawi which is everyone’s dream but instead of seeing positivity we see more failures. Which is really frustrating.”

Kumwenda is scheduled blush shoulders at the 2025 polls with torchbearers of Malawi Congress Party (MCP) which is headed by  Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), United Democratic Front (UDF) and United Transformation Movement (UTM).

Meanwhile, Kumwenda is the only female aspiring President who has shown interest to contest for the forthcoming polls.
