Police in Limbe, Blantyre have arrested a 57 year-old Indian national, identified as Ramsing Narissing Shinde, for allegedly defiling a 5 year old girl at Maone residential area in the city.

Limbe Police Spokesperson Aubrey Singanyama has confirmed that the suspect, a neighbor to the victim’s parents, invited the victim and her 6 year old sister into his bedroom after coaxing them with Chapati.

Singanyama claimed that upon entry into his bedroom, Shinde, undressed both minors and defiled the victim in the presence of her sister.

“In course of the act, the brother of the two sisters entered the room where he caught him and immediately alerted his parents who took the matter to Limbe Police Station,” Singanyama said.

Shinde will appear before court soon to answer the charge of defilement.
