Information reaching this publication indicate that Thyolo Senior Resident Magistrate Assunta Maxwell has denied bail to 12 men accused of stealing rail materials valued at K7.2 million.
In her ruling, the senior magistrate said the evidence tendered in court by the prosecution is overwhelming among others.
She has since adjourned the matter to 5 July 2023 for judgement on malicious damage and theft charges.
