High Court Judge Justice Howard Pemba has granted an injunction to Deputy National Director of political affairs in the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), Billy Malata, against the holding of a National Governing Council (NGC) meeting in Mangochi.
According to the injunction, the party should not at the time or any day hold the meeting until the matter is resolved by the courts.
According to court documents, the reason for Malata obtaining the injunction is that the people who are being invited to the meeting are not members of the NGC that were elected at the 2018 convention.
Effort to talk to DPP spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba proved futile.
