Information reaching this publication indicate that police in Mzimba are keeping in custody a 29-year-old woman

Police in Mzimba have arrested a 29 year old woman for burning her sister in-law’s daughter aged six, with a hot spoon.

According to Mzimba police spokesperson Peter Botha, the suspect accused the six year-old girl of drinking Nyika Juice she had prepared for her child.

The incident happened on Sunday, and she was arrested by police community members.

Botha said the woman is suspected to be mentally disturbed, police are waiting for tests on her before further action.
