Govt to spend MK320 million on Independence Day Celebrations

Government has disclosed that the cost for this year’s Independence Celebrations is pegged at 320 Million Kwacha.
According to Richard Chimwendo Banda, one of the ministerial members, the funds were already provided in the national budget.
He said there will be national players, music concerts and a match between Nyasa Big Bullets and Yanga FC from Tanzania.
According to Chimwendo, government is engaging a president from another country to be part of the events from 5th July.
Malawi Independence is observed on July 6 every year.
