Chief Resident Magistrate Madalitso Chimwaza of the Lilongwe Magistrates Court on Monday granted bail to Southern Region Footage Association ( SRFA) Chairman, Raphael Humba, who was re-arrested last week on Tuesday in Blantyre for breaching bail conditions.
He was initially nabbed for using an MSCE that allegedly is not his to secure employment.
Humba has since been ordered to appear once in a fortnight at Balaka Police Station and also paid a bail bond of K200,000 cash with two non cash sureties of K500,000.
The Magistrate’s court also observed that the charge sheet against Humba lacked proper information such as where the case was committed, who the certificate was presented to and and when the crime to do with the certificate issue was committed.
According to Humba’s lawyer, Gilbert Khonyongwa, the police did not produce the said MSCE certificate in court.
The case will appear in court again on July 26, 2023.
