Senior resident magistrate Yohane Munthali has sentenced Charles Lambulira, 38, to three years imprisonment for house breaking.
According to State prosecutor sub-inspector Linney Chimwala, Lambulira committed the offence on March 23 2023.
Chimwala told the court that the convict was caught red handed while entering, through a window, Mangalita Harry’s house at Chingale in the district.
Chimwala asked the court to impose a custodial sentence to the convict.
In mitigation, Lambulira prayed for mercy saying he is a first offender and that he is a family man.
The magistrate concurred with the State hence the sentence to serve as a deterrent to the would be offenders.
Lambulira hails from Gwaza Village in Senior Chief Mlumbe in Zomba District.
