The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is today scheduled to hold it National Governing Council (NGC) meeting at Nkopola Lodge in the eastern district of Mangochi.
Delegates to the indaba are scheduled to set date for the elective conference of the party ahead of the 2025 Presidential Polls.
The development comes barely two days after the Supreme Court of Appeal lifted an injunction obtained by one of the top blasts in DPP.
DPP spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.
“I can confirm that the NGC meeting is on. It is not against any court order because the Supreme Court of Appeal stayed that order so we are not braking any law. The meeting will proceed,” said Namalomba briefly.
Former President Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the party is scheduled to attend the NGC meeting.
