The body of Blantyre Synod Radio journalist Jean Yona Nkata, who succumbed to meningitis on 2 July, has been laid to rest at Area 18 cemetery in Lilongwe.

The Media Institute for Southern Africa (MISA Malawi) chapter said the fraternity has lost a dedicated member who always strived to provide the public with vital information.

Born on 31 July 1991, the late Jean joined the media in 2010.

She once worked for Channel for All Nations radio and TV, and Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC).

She is survived by a husband.
