Malawi To Receive Strong Mwera Winds For 5 Days

The Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services has issued a warning to the general public about the forthcoming of strong wind accompanied with Chiperoni weather condition.
According to a press statement released on 8 July, Strong wind Mwera accompanied with Chiperoni weather is expected in Malawi from Monday evening 10 July to Saturday 15th July 2023.
However, the anticipated strong Mwera winds are expected to cause high water waves up to 3 meters over lake Malawi and other water bodies.
Therefore, people in the country have been advised to stay away from water bodies during this period.
