The Malawi Police Service (MPS) and the Malawi National Examinations Board (Maneb) are currently conducting an investigation following a recent break-in at the Bulala Teacher’s Development Centre (TDC) in Mzimba District.

This facility serves as a storage location for the Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examination materials.

The break-in has raised concerns as the targeted room contained a range of examination papers, including those that were yet to be administered and those that had already been administered.

The MPS national publicist, Peter Kalaya, has stated that the extent of any tampering with the examination papers is still being determined.

Authorities are currently working to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the break-in.
