Chizumu Island Area Development Committee (ADC) Chairperson Alick Banda has confirmed the missing of two fishermen identified as Patrick and another Emmanuel Sinoya on lake Malawi after they went fishing on Tuesday evening.

According to Banda, the two left at 17:00hrs on an engine boat despite warning them about heavy Mwera Winds which is blowing on the lake.

He added that at the moment they can not trace the whereabouts of the two and their fishing equipment.

Likoma Police Station Publicist Sargent Enala Kaluwa is yet to comment on the matter.
