Limbe Police in Blantyre District is keeping in custody 36 people for being suspected of committing various offenses in Limbe.
Public Relations Officer for Limbe Police Station Patrick Mussa has said that, the suspects were arrested during the night of July 11, 2023, at Limbe after being suspected they were connected to a number of offenses ranging from robbery, theft, breaking into buildings, and committing a felony therein and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.
Mussa said: “Due to a spate of cases of robbery, theft, and building break-ins in Limbe, the Police carried out an intelligence-driven operation which led to the apprehension of the 36 suspects”.
According to Mussa, the suspects have been charged with appropriate charges and will appear in court soon.
He further assured the citizenry that operations of such nature are ongoing with the aim of bringing sanity and making the area a crime-free zone.
