President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy McCarthy Chakwera who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Malawi Defence Force, on Thursday July 13, bestowed the rank of General to the new Defence Force Commander Paul Valentino Phiri.
In attendance, was the Minister of Defence Honourable Harry Mkandawire.
He is taking over from Vincent Nundwe who was fired three days ago by the President.
