Sexual harassment has been described as evil which must be uprooted in the work place.

The sentiment has been made by Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani during the official launching ceremony of the Zodiak Sexual Harassment Workplace Policy in Salima.

Hara said that it  sad to note that many workers, especially female ones, continue to be subjected to sexual harassment in the workplace and that most of these cases go unreported.

She thanked Zodiak for launching the policy which will work as a guide on how to prevent and deal with the vice.

However, Hara has called  employees in the country to normalize reporting sexual harassment issues in their institutions.

Meanwhile,Habiba Osman Executive Secretary for the Malawi Human Rights Commission MHRC has said that as an organization, they will conduct an assessment in institutions on the compliance of sexual harassment policies from 1st September this year.
