Jenda Police Publicist, Macfarlen Mseteka has confirmed that thieves have broken into Jenda market council offices and gone away with a cash chest which had money amounting to over K1.3 million at around 3 am today.

Mseteka said the thieves gained entry into the office by breaking the main door and got away with the money which was collected as revenue during a market day on Thursday, July 20.

Meanwhile, police have detained the watchman saying he saw the thieves breaking into the office but did not call for help from his fellow watchmen who were around nearby offices.
