A man died in Dowa on a road accident  after being hit by a motor vehicle at Chimangansasa in the district.

Dowa Police Station Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Alice Sitima, identified the deceased as Chimvano Chinsisi, who she said was hit by a Toyota Hilux Double Cabin registration DA 4477J.

The vehicle was being driven by Stanley Jeriko to Chezi direction heading Dowa boma with one passenger on board.

“Upon arrival at Chimangansasa, the driver managed to see Chinsisi crossing from the left to the right side of the road, but due to speeding, he failed to control the vehicle and hit Chinsisi who was by then on the middle of the road.

“Following the impact, Chinsisi sustained multiple fractures on both legs and head injuries. He was rushed to Dowa District Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival,” said Sitima.

Chimvano Chinsisi, whose age has not yet been established, hailed from Nyalubwe Village in Traditional Authority Mkukula in Dowa.
