A second year student at Domasi College of Education (DCE) has been discovered dead in the early hours of 23 July 2023 in a drainage within the campus.

Deputy Public Relations Officer for Zomba Police, Aaron Chilala has confirmed the fate and  identified the deceased as Phedel Nyondo of 25 years-old.

Chilala has said that the previous night before the fate, the institution hosted an open-air disco on campus and Nyondo (now deceased) was in attendance.

He was seen consuming alcohol during the disco and he was found dead in the next day morning.

He further said postmortem examination at Domasi rural hospital revealed that death was caused by a blocked airway as the Nyondo had twisted his neck.
