Former Homeland Security Minister Cecilia Chazama and six others are back at Blantyre Magistrate court today to proceed with a case in connection to suspected hiring of 127 unqualified Immigration Assistants.
The state said is ready to parade one witness to testify against the suspects while the defense is seeking adjournment citing more time to prepare for the case and failure by the state to serve them with disclosures.
Magistrate Chisomo Msokera has since dismissed the application and the hearing continues.
The Anti Corruption Bureau arrested Chazama and others in May 2022.
