Leader of parliament, Richard Chimwendo Banda has dismissed allegations of deliberately interrupting parliament proceedings for the Malawi Congress Party’s (MCP) internal election.

He challenges the accusers to provide evidence and has reported the matter to the speaker’s office for appropriate action.

Meanwhile, Parliament’s spokesperson, Ian Mwenye, confirms that the technical issues with the house gadgets have been resolved, and normal deliberations are set to resume at 2 pm.

The interruption claims came amid the MCP’s chairperson election in the central region.

Chimwendo Banda firmly defends the party’s integrity and denies any interference with parliamentary business for electoral purposes.
