Police in Mzuzu have arrested three men for the offense of burglary, and for being found in possession of property suspected to have been unlawfully obtained.
The suspects have been identified as Musopenge Zgambo, Charles Chimimbi, and Thomas Chitayo.
The trio were caught on the night of August 2, 2023 within the City, and at Ekwendeni Trading Centre where police have been investigating burglary and theft cases.
Zgambo was found in possession of different entertainment equipment which he failed to produce the items’ valid papers.
Zgambo also revealed to police to have sold some electrical items such as Television (TV) screens at Ekwendeni.
He later led the law-enforcers to Chibavi location where arrests of both, the second and third suspects were made.
Detectives have since recovered from the suspects a total of ten TV screens.
The suspects will appear in court soon to answer applicable charges.
Meanwhile, Mzuzu Police is advising residents in the City who lost such items through robbery to visit the station for identification of the same.
Zyambo 38, hails from Njikho Village, Chimimbi 23, hails from Sitani Shawa Village, both from Traditional Authority Mtwalo, whilst Chitaya 24, comes from Kapando Village, Traditional Authority Chindi, all in Mzimba District.
