The Director of Quality Assurance and Standards in the Ministry of Education, Professor Golden Msilimba has disclosed that the Ministry will soon start engaging stakeholders as one way of collecting views ahead of a revised country’s education curriculum aiming at aligning it with the MW2063 vision.

Msilimba said for the Ministry to meet MW2063 fifth enabler of promoting Human Capital Development, the curriculum needs to include new slides to accommodate such aspects, hence consultative meetings with various stakeholders.

“In collaboration with Malawi Institute of Education (MIE), we will conduct community engagement meetings and expertise-based discussions while others will directly write the Ministry” Said Msilimba.

He further said Malawians will also be given a chance to send their views through SMSs, adding that the new curriculum will be designed to also accommodate out of school youth, as the Ministry’s goal is to equip both students and out of school youth with relevant knowledge, skills, attitudes, as well as values do that they become self-reliant who can positively contribute to the national development.

On his part, the Executive Director for MIE, Dr. Fritz Kadyomba said curriculum review is always at the core of the quest for quality of education as it enhance student learning experience and outcomes.

The revised curriculum is expected to be ready for its implementation by the year 2028.
