Former President Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is scheduled to attend burial ceremony of late Goodall Edward Gondwe in Enukweni, Mzimba this coming Sunday.
Gondwe who once served as Minister of Finance and Economic Development under the reign of former President Bingu Wa Mutharika, died on Tuesday night at Adventist Hospital in the capital Lilongwe.
According to information at hand, Mutharika is today scheduled to attend the funeral service of late Gondwe in Area 10 where vigil is currently taking place.
The body of Gondwe will be taken to Mzuzu ahead of burial ceremony this coming Friday.
Meanwhile most members of Parliament from both sides including the Leader of Opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa have today shunned Parliamentary deliberations to attend the funeral of Gondwe.
Gondwe died at the age of 87.
