Well-known right activist Bon Kalindo who is also leader of Nzika Zokhudzidwa group has resurfaced calls for the resignation of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his Vice Dr. Saulos Chilima for failing to run the affairs of the country.
The grouping has since revealed that it will hold peaceful demonstrations on August 30, 2023 in the capital Lilongwe to force Chakwera and his entire cabinet to step aside.
Speaking in an interview with the press Kalindo has said that the grouping has already notified the Lilongwe District Council and the Malawi Police Service (MPS) on the planned demonstrations.
According to Kalindo, the planned demonstrations will be held 100 metres from the entrace to the capital Hill.
He said the grouping has done this with an aim of delivering directly the petition to President Chakwera and not through the Lilongwe City Council as was the case during previous demonstrations.
Kalindo has since urged religious leaders to be in the forefront in wooing Malawians to patronise the planned peaceful demonstrations.
