Police in the Southern Region are investigating an in-campus attack on a Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS) student.

South West Police Spokesperson, Beatrice Mikuwa, told the press that when the incident happened, there were no intruders within the MUBAS Campus and it was too early to connect the incident to street-connected children.

Mikuwa said police rule out assertions of street-connected kids being behind the incident, but was quick to say the truth of the matter is being investigated.

Currently, the student is admitted to a hospital in Blantyre.
