Speaker of the National Assembly Catherine Gotani Hara has announced that there will be a special celebration for Alinafe Chulu of Playdor Private School, who has topped the Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE) best candidates’ list.

Hara disclosed this during adjournment formalities remarks in the August House.

She said Alinafe has represented her fellow female learners well, saying they now consider her as their role model.
“We need to celebrate this girl child,” she said.

She went further to hail Levison Henderson of Nampeya primary school in Machinga who got position 2 for representing public schools and showing that hardwork can still pay no matter the condition of the school.

Parliament also celebrated Wakisa Ngosi of Ekwendeni primary school in Mzimba who also got position 2.

Wakisa, who happened to be at Parliament at the time, was allowed into the Chamber and has had pictures taken with the House’s leadership and other members of Parliament.

Other celebrated candidates are Angel Mbewe of Mphongole Primary School in Kasungu, Patrick Mahoria of Dzenje ll primary school in Phalombe, Hostings Botha of St Pauls Mzimba, Gift Mwale of Linga school in Nkhotakota, Miracle Uka of Bekeni school in Chikwawa and Andrew Namalomba of Chikale school in Nkhatabay, all in top 10.
