State vice President Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima on Tuesday hailed an audience with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Malawi Ute Konig at his office in the capital Lilongwe.

Chilima has confirmed of the development in a statement posted on his official facebook page seen by this publication.

“Today, I held discussions with Her Excellency Ute Konig, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Malawi.

“Among other issues, we both underscored the historical relationship between Germany and Malawi, spanning 60 years in 2024,” said Chilima.

He added: “I specifically expressed Lilongwe’s commitment to fostering greater cooperation across various sectors with Berlin.”
