21-year-old Chimwemwe Muloma is behind bars for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a female child.
Mulanje Police spokesperson Innocent Moses says the victim went to Muloma’s house where she was asked to work on his hair.
Later, Chimwemwe secretly enticed the victim to his room where he defiled her.
But the victim’s young sister caught the suspect red handed and reported the matter to her mother.
Medical examination at Mulanje District Hospital proved defilement on the girl.
Moses says the suspect will soon appear before court upon completion of their investigations.
Muloma comes from Makhonya Village, in Traditional Authority Nazonbe in Phalombe district.
