A 28-year-old man, Thomas Nkhata, has hanged himself under the roof of his house in the village of Hanock Mhlanga at kapopo in Mzimba district.
Jenda Police Station spokesperson Su-Inspector Mackfarlen Mseteka has confirmed the development saying it is alleged that on August 27, 2023 around 09:00 hours Thomas Nkhata now deceased was discovered hanging by his mother when she entered in his house.
Together with her relatives they untied the rope and took him to Jenda Rural Hospital for treatment, he however was pronounced dead on arrival.
Mseteka says post-mortem results produced at the facility indicate that death was due to suffocation and no foul play suspected.
Meanwhile Jenda Police condemns resorting to suicide when things become tough, rather people are advised to always seek help in times of stress and depression.
Thomas Nkhata hailed from Hanock Mhlanga Village, Traditional Authority Mmbelwa in Mzimba district.
