The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has accused the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) being behind the disruption on yesterday’s demonstrations organized by political activist Bon Kalindo.
Kalindo together with some right activists in the country on Thursday organized demonstrations with an aim of forcing President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to resign from his office.
But the demonstrations ended in chaos as a group of youths together with the law enforcers ganged up against the peaceful protesters.
The development forced Kalindo to call off the demonstrations.
In a statement released and signed by DPP spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba described the development as worrisome.
