24-Year-Old Man Hangs Himself in Zomba After A Fight With Girlfriend

A 24-year-old man, Peter Nsona, was discovered hanging from the roof of a boys’ quarter in Old Naisi, Zomba, on Wednesday, September 12, 2023.
Deputy public relations officer Aaron Chilala of Zomba Police Station reported that Nsona had gone to Mangochi District to see his girlfriend.
During their visit, a quarrel ensued, and Nsona assaulted his girlfriend, leading to his arrest by Mangochi Police. He was subsequently granted police bail and his uncle picked him up from Mangochi to Zomba. However, later in the day around 2pm, he was discovered hanging from the roof of a boys’ quarter.
However, a postmortem conducted at Zomba Central Hospital determined that Nsona’s death resulted from suffocation, secondary to strangulation.
Nsona hailed from Mahuwasa Village, T/A Kadewere in Chiradzulu District.
