A 23-year-old man, Mabvuto George, from Chilindauta Village, in the area of Senior Chief Chakhaza in Dowa District, has died after being hit by a motor vehicle.
The accident occurred on the evening of September 18 at Kasese Trading Centre along the Kasungu-Lilongwe M1 stretch.
Mponela Police Station spokesperson MacPatson Msadala says a Toyota Land Cruiser, which was being driven by Henry Chunga with four passengers on board, hit George as he tried to cross the road.
This was after the driver had reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to speeding.
George is said to have sustained head injuries and was rushed to Kasese Health Centre before being referred to Kamuzu Central Hospital, where he died the following day.
