Human Rights Defenders Coalition-HRDC, Centre for Human Rights and Rehabilitation, Youth and Society, and the Center for Transparency and Accountability, among others, have collectively voiced their concern about the recurring mysterious and brutal deaths in Malawi, pointing to severe security lapses.
They caution that if not addressed, this situation could harm investor confidence and erode trust in security agencies.
While National Police spokesperson Peter Kalaya reports progress in arresting suspects in Lilongwe’s infamous murder cases, HRDC Vice Chairperson Michael Kayitsa insists these incidents signal a security crisis in Malawi.
