Fire has  gutted down part of Dyeratu Market in Chikwawa yesterday afternoon on 24 September 2023

Confirming the accident, Ward Counselor for Bwabwali Ward Gerald Bede, has said that authorities have yet to establish the number of those affected by the accident.

However, it is believed that the incident was caused by an electrical spark.

The Dyeratu Market Incident comes barely a week after part of Zomba’s main market encountered the same fate and the other part of Ndirande Market in Blantyre.
