Malawi Records 1,068 Road Accidents In 2022

Malawi recorded a total 1,068 fatalities from road accidents in the year 2022.
According to the Directorate of Road Traffic and Safety Services (DRTSS), out of this figure, 680 accidents involved pedestrians and cyclists.
DRTSS’s chief road traffic officer for southern region Madalitso Gunsaru attributes these accidents to speeding as well as drink and driving.
