Impakt events organizers have announced that scarcity of Forex in the country has affected their plan to bring in Nigerian Afro-Pop artist Spyro real name Oludipe Oluwasami David for this year’s Sand Music Festival which will take place at Sunbird Nkopola, in Mangochi this coming weekend.

The organizers made the announcement through a statement on Sand Music Festival’s Facebook page on Saturday and they have  introduced  Boohle from South Africa to spice up the lineup

The statement reads; “Dear Team Sand festival, and all fans at large. We have decided to release our surprise artist much earlier than we thought.

The challenge we are facing in getting the much needed Forex to finalize fully the contract with Spyro, seems to still stand as a block.

Three weeks down the line from the application date, our bank has not succeeded in making the transfer due to the scarcity of Forex.

We therefore have Boohle as our fallback plan in case we don’t succeed in balancing things up with Spyro in-time. We regret this scenario and wish it was not beyond our ability.

Aluta continua! Festival goes on with all other artists and activities. we thank you for your support and understanding. May God bless you all.”

Spyro rose to fame in 2022 when he featured Tiwa Savage in a track titled Who is your guy.

Apart from the international acts, Impakt have also lined up a number of notable local artists who will perform at the four day annual festival starting from 29 September to 1 October 2023.
