The Human Rights and Democracy Coalition (HRDC) has expressed dismay with what they call as silence by President Lazarus Chakwera to address the continued fuel scarcity arguing that the situation is a national crisis which requires his office to speak on.
This comes as people are in unbearable state as they are spending nights in filling stations searching for fuel.
Vice Chairperson for HRDC Michael Kayiyatsa has said that the current state of affairs is worrying as there is silence from executive and political leadership to work on the issue.
According to Kayiyatsa, it is disheartening to note of the absence of Chakwera and the cabinet to resolve the situation.
Kayiyatsa adds that the country has reached a level that needs a leader who can provide explanations and assurances on resolving such situation.
