Egenco, the Electricity Generation Company, has placed its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) William Liabunya and Director of Corporate Services and Company Secretary Videlia Mluwira on forced leave.
An internal circular addressed to staff and signed by Acting Director of Human Resources Management Alexander Dzimba states that the Director of Operations, Maxon Chitawo, will oversee the CEO’s office during this period.
The forced leave comes as part of the ongoing audit investigation by the government.
As of now, Egenco spokesperson Moses Gwaza has not provided an immediate comment on the matter.
This decision is pending the outcome of a government-initiated forensic audit.
