Malawi has joined the rest of world in Commemorating the 2023 International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (DDRR) today, (13 October 2023).
DDRR happens every year on 13 October to promote a global culture of disaster risk reduction.
General Assembly of United Nation states that, the day offers opportunity to acknowledge global progress in reducing and preventing losses and disaster risk.
This year’s event will be celebrated under the theme “Fighting Inequality for a Resilient Future”.
The Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) leads this year’s commemoration with a call for collaborative and accelerated efforts in reducing disaster risks.
