Former Minister of Health Jappie Mhango has been appointed as Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the North.
Mhango replaces Goodall Gondwe who died on August 8, 2023.
DPP spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to this publication.
According to Namalomba, the appointment follows a meeting by the Central Executive Committee yesterday, which was chaired by the party’s president Peter Mutharika.
Namalomba said the party believes that Mhango will among others help in uniting members of the party following the intra-party fights that have been happening in the party.
