Unknown thieves on Sunday night ransacked the house of Malawi’s female comedian Felistus Ngwira who is popularly known as Nya Uyu.
The suspected thieves went away with three laptops, Sound System and other assorted items.
Nya-uyu Ngwira has confirmed of the development in a statement posted on her official facebook page seen by this publication.
“I got home from last night’ event only to find out thieves broke into my house.Zaba my 3 laptops, Sound system, fan kutsegula sobo kumwerere mpaka kuiwala ma slides awo.
“Mukagwira wakuba ku area 18A ndizisonkha nawo ya machesi. I have always been that person who keep saying akuba tiziwamvera chisoni koma mwandionjeza agalu inu,” wrote Nya-uyu Ngwira.
She added: “Bene Phoka and Bene Hewe please ma slides wa ndingatumize bwanji kumudziko muchite nawo anthuwa traditionally.”
Recently the country has experienced a sharp rise in robbery incidents with many attributing it to security lapse.
But Homeland Security Minister Ken Zikhale Ng’oma has rejected this on several times.
