A 68 year old man Lenard Banda has been ordered to serve 12 years in prison for defiling his 11 year old granddaughter.
The prosecuting officer Agness Thindwa at Kasungu police station, told court that the man called the child to his house to get money to buy medicine for him, but when she arrived the man defiled her.
Although the man denied the crime, but the police brought four witnesses who confirmed the crime that the man really did it.
First grade magistrate Johns Masula then ordered the man 12 years imprisonment to serve as a lesson to other people.
